The phone call after the selfie went awry.
At West Tennessee Restoration, most of our calls involve the usual suspects: fire, smoke, water, wind, or mold damage. But every now and then, we get one that’s... a little different.
Take, for example, the call from a local apartment complex owner who had a situation that started with a selfie — and ended with water damage.
One of the tenants had just gotten a new pistol and decided to snap a quick selfie to show it off. But in his excitement, he missed one critical detail: the safety was off.
One click and POW — the mirror shattered, the bullet tore through the wall, and kept going… right into the neighboring unit’s plumbing.
Fortunately no one was hurt. The damage was to the mirror, wall, and adjacent wall and plumbing.
Thankfully, no one was hurt. But what started as a misguided glamour shot quickly turned into a mess of broken glass, drywall repairs, and leaking pipes.
That’s where we came in. Our team at West Tennessee Restoration took care of the cleanup and repairs, while the apartment owner handled the conversation with the would-be influencer.
From the routine to the ridiculous — we’ve seen it all, and we’re here to help.📞 Call us anytime at (731) 660-9090
