Did an episode of MAID on Netflix hit home?

A mother's child develops a terrible cough due to mold.

If you were watching episode 5 of the powerful Netflix drama MAID and thought, 'wonder if my child is coughing for the same reason?' You may need your home or apartment inspected.

The producers of the series performed a great service in demonstrating the health risks associated with mold, particularly for youngsters and those with compromised immune systems. Hopefully this episode will alert parents to potential mold issues and help prevent long-term health consequences for children.

Sometimes you can see mold in plain sight in an area that's easy to get to....but sometimes mold can grow rapidly and in some of the hard to see or hard to get to areas such as under carpets, inside walls, and in crawlspaces or other remote parts of the home.

Mold can be a serious health hazard for your family, and you should have your home tested anytime you suspect your property may be infested. Are there specific times when you should consider a mold test for your home? Absolutely.

1. If you're considering purchasing or moving to a new residence.

2. If you or your family have detected a musty odor in the home.

3. If a part of your home recently had a leak or was damaged by flood.

4. If you or your family seems to have recently dealt with unexplained illnesses (sore throats, sinus infections, coughing, headaches, rashes, hives, or unusual fatigue.
